Indigo Press Operator

Engage Print, a commercial printing company located just south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, is looking for a motivated individual to join our team. We offer a wide range of services, including offset, digital and large format printing. Position Summary

Engage/NCG, Inc., a commercial printer in Northfield, MN, is seeking a full-time operator for their HP Indigo 12000 digital press. The press operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the press, generating proofs and production runs on a variety of customer projects, including business cards, brochures, postcards, booklets, flyers, direct mail and more. The press operator also manages the inventory of paper stock for the digital press, and works with representatives from HP to troubleshoot any technical or print quality issues. The operator must have excellent attention to detail, as he or she is expected to maintain high quality-control standards on behalf of our customers.

When not operating the press, the operator may be asked to assist in other areas, including the prepress and finishing departments. Experience in a print environment is preferred, but not required, as training will be provided. The HP Indigo is a high-tech machine with a wide range of capabilities, and this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is comfortable working with both software and hardware, but also likes to be hands-on with projects and prefers a casual working environment.

Responsibilities

• Operation of HP Indigo 12000 digital press
• Regular maintenance of the digital press and management of consumable/wearable parts
• Inventory management for digital paper stock
• Troubleshooting technical and print quality issues, working with HP technicians as needed
• Minor repairs as appropriate
• Maintaining strict quality control standards
• Assisting other departments as needed

Requirements

• Aptitude for working with machines as well as computers/software
• Experience in a printing environment preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

$20.00 per hour and up commensurate with experience
